On January 24th, 2011, the band Walrus, formed by Kim Jae Wook (Vocals & Guitar), Kim Tae Hyun (Drums), Yu Seung Beom (Guitar) and Yang Si On (Bass), released a self titled album. Inspired by groups likes Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Nirvana and Oasis, the band succeeds in ressuciting the grunge spirit that died with one of its biggest icon.

With a rock remembering The Vines or Silverchair in their debut, the song ”To Be” seduced our eardrums. 3 minutes 26 seconds of pure delight. ”Mozaic” makes you want to walk with confidence and sunglasses on your face. Even if the introduction reminded us of the ”Champs Élysées” by Joe Dasson, the last song, ‘Seoulmanyeo’, makes us smile and feel happy.

Coonclusion: Walrus stole the words from our mouth. Alright, we have to admit we are biased when it comes to Jae Wook since Antique Bakery and Mary Stayed Out All Night. But you have to see the talent when there is talent : Walrus is raw good rock.

Notice: We like the logo inspired by… walrus tooth.
